Chorus America is thrilled to introduce the participants of the 2023 Choral-Orchestral Conducting Academy. This year’s cohort comprises 12 Conducting Fellows and 15 Conducting Scholars. Bios of the participants can be found on our website.

Chorus America’s Choral-Orchestral Conducting Academy consists of a Fellows Program and Scholars Program, providing choral conductors a unique opportunity to develop choral-orchestral skills and enhance their university training. The week-long program running from July 3-9 offers one-on-one time with expert faculty, the opportunity to work with choirs, orchestras, and soloists, and more podium experience conducting choral-orchestral repertoire. Participants of the 2023 Conducting Academy will work with the following repertoire:

  • Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight – Florence Price

  • Dona Nobis Pacem – Ralph Vaughan Williams

  • Symphony No. 9, 4th Movement – Ludwig van Beethoven

Participants will also take part in a final performance at Meng Concert Hall on the California State University, Fullerton campus.
