2019 Chorus America Conference Scholarships

Chorus America is pleased to announce the following scholarship opportunities for the 2019 Chorus America Conference in Philadelphia.

All scholarship applications are due Friday, March 22, 2019 11:59 PM EST.

Recipients will be notified by April 5. Anyone not awarded a scholarship will be able to register for the conference at the Early-Bird rate.

Leaders of Color Scholarship (up to 6 available)

Who can apply: Any Chorus America member at any point of their career who identify as ALAANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Arab, and Native American) and/or a person of color.  

What is given: The scholarship covers the full cost of registration but does not include special events with an additional fee (i.e. In-Depth Seminars).

First Time Conference Attendee Scholarship (up to 6 available)

Who can apply: Any Chorus America member attending the conference for the first time.

What is given: The scholarship covers the full cost of registration but does not include special events with an additional fee (i.e. In-Depth Seminars).

General Scholarship (up to 6 available)

Who can apply: Any Chorus America member that wishes to attend the conference.

What is given: The scholarship covers the full cost of registration but does not include special events with an additional fee (i.e. In-Depth Seminars).

Evaluation Criteria:

Scholarship recipients are selected on a competitive basis. Students, and choral leaders of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply for scholarships and will be specially considered as part of Chorus America’s ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion in the choral field. Diverse backgrounds can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, physical ability, nationality, language, religious beliefs, socioeconomic background, and other areas of identity. Applications will be evaluated based on the quality of the responses and potential for the scholarship to make a lasting impact in the applicant’s career and/or choral community. Applicants may apply for multiple scholarships, but will receive no more than one award.

Regional Scholarships - Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania Professional Development Grants:

Professional Development & Consulting (PD&C) Grants support opportunities for professional development for staff members of nonprofit arts organizations headquartered in Pennsylvania. Applicants can apply for up to $750 for staff development opportunities and are awarded on a "first come/first served" basis. Visit Citizens for the Arts in PA to apply.
