Stories from Our #ChorusofSupporters
Dianne Peterson, Executive Director Emerita, The Washington Chorus
There are few things in life like the power of singing together. No matter where, when or why we gather to sing, we often sense a magic that can touch our souls like nothing else.
I’m blessed to have been immersed in this magic, both as a singer and as one who’s had a long career in the business of the sharing and creating music with, and for, communities of all ages and diverse settings.
With passion and enthusiasm, I express appreciation to Chorus America for providing me with the tools, expertise and inspiration that guided me through my 30+ years in the choral field.
When you hear a chorus singing, or are singing with one yourself, and are touched with emotion and awe, chances are Chorus America has had a part of making it all happen. I urge you to join me in supporting CHORUS AMERICA on #GivingTuesday. A gift to Chorus America will help thousands to keep that magic alive!
Marie Bucoy-Calavan, Director of Choral Studies at The University of Akron
Chorus America has been nothing short of integral to my journey as a conductor. I first became involved with Chorus America through participating in the unique choral instrumental masterclasses that they offer, and consequently, I feel more aptly equipped and prepared in conducting choral-orchestral masterworks. As I began attending the National Conferences, I became instantly impressed with the wealth of resources that the organization provides. What is most inspiring is the openness of Chorus America's prestigious membership, both artistic and executive, and their willingness to help other conductors and choral enthusiasts foster and grow the choral art. The personal attention by the Chorus America staff is unmatched by any other service organization I've encountered, and I will continue to encourage everyone I know to tap into the incredible assets and services that Chorus America provides its constituency. Chorus America has played a large role in any success or growth I have experienced as a conductor, and I look forward to doing all I can to give back this organization to help ensure that it continues to do so for young conductors in the future.
