Currently in his 22nd year of teaching, Ladell Fortune has degrees in Music Education from Georgia Southern University and Boston University. He has been the choral director at Flat Rock Middle School since 2018. All choirs consistently receive Superior Ratings in Performance and Sight Reading at Large Group Performance Evaluations. His students actively participate in all major choral events sponsored by The Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) each year. Under his direction, the Flat Rock Singers have been featured performers at both the 2023 GMEA and Georgia ACDA conventions. Mr. Ladell Fortune remains in growing demand as a clinician and adjudicator regionally. He served 2 terms as the GMEA Choral Chair for District 6 from 2020-2024 and he is the Department Chair and Leadership Team member at his school. He is the assistant director of the Wendell P. Whalum Community Chorus and sings with Orpheus Men’s Ensemble. He actively participates in GMEA, ACDA, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
