Yu-Feng Huang

Yu-Feng Huang, an accomplished choral conductor from Taiwan, has established himself as a leading figure in the contemporary Chinese choral scene. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Utah and has directed more than ten choirs, including university and community choirs across Taiwan and the United States. 

Dr. Huang's research has focused on creating clear guidelines for non-Chinese speakers to sing Chinese music with authenticity. Through his Chinese Choral Repertoire Promotion Project, he has utilized his expertise to promote intercultural communication through choral music. 

As the music director of the Salt Lake Chinese Choir, Dr. Huang has made significant contributions to enhancing the choir's reputation. He has also introduced Asian choral music to American audiences as a guest conductor. He studied under the renowned conductor, Dr. Barlow Bradford, and served as an instructor of the undergraduate conducting class. 

Dr. Huang's extensive knowledge of choral music and his passion for promoting intercultural communication through music motivates him to seek learning opportunities such as the Choral Executive Leadership Academy. With his wealth of experience in conducting and music education, he is well-positioned to make substantial contributions to the choral community and elevate the visibility of Chinese and Asian choral music in the United States.
