Conference 2018

2018 Conference in Chicago

With more than 525 choral leaders coming together in Chicago this past June, the 2018 Conference was a gathering not to be missed! Plenary included neurobiologist Nina Krauss, nonprofit thought leader Vu Le, and Sphinx Organization's Andre Dowell and conductor Eugene Rogers, who gave a powerful presentation on equity and inclusion in choral music, featuring EXIGENCE, a professional vocal ensemble made up of African American and Latinx singers. Throughout the Conference, breakout sessions featured new ideas for programming, audience and board development, navigating transitions, and much more. Visit the schedule pages on our website to access any materials and handouts made available by our presenters.

Inspiring Performances

Hosted by Chicago Children's Choir and Grant Park Music Festival, the 2018 Conference also featured Chicago performing ensembles Anima - Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus, Cantate Chicago, Chicago a cappella, Schola Antiqua, and the St. Charles Singers. The Thursday Awards Celebration included a special performance by Walt Whitman's Soul Children of Chicago.

Thank You!

This year’s Conference would not have been possible without the generous support of our co-hosts Grant Park Music Festival and Chicago Children's Choir and our sponsors—especially lead Conference sponsor Distinguished Concerts International, New York (DCINY). We are so grateful to all the speakers, performers, donors, exhibitors, volunteers, and partner organizations for making the 2018 Conference a success.
