Paul Babcock

Paul Babcock has been an esteemed faculty member of MacPhail since 1989, serving as president and chief operating officer (2007 to present), vice president and director of the school (2002-2006), director of outreach and program services (1995-2001), and served as interim director during the duration of the 2001 executive search. Babcock also teaches individual percussion lessons and conducts the MacPhail Percussion Ensemble, Rimshots! He receives frequent requests to speak about music education, and most recently has presented to the National Endowment for the Arts and the Department of Health and Human Services on the impact of early childhood music, as well as to the National Guild for Community Arts Education on engaging adolescents. Babcock earned a bachelor's degree in music and business administration, cum laude, at Monmouth College, Illinois, and was awarded a master's degree in music, percussion performance, magna cum laude, at the University of Minnesota.
