Chorus America is thrilled to welcome two new team members to the organization, both of whom will be supporting the inaugural Music Education Collaborative Grants program.
Kim Theodore Sidey is delighted to combine her experience in grant-making and choral music education as Chorus America's Music Education Grants Program Officer. Most recently, Kim served as program manager at the Austin (TX) Community Foundation, where she oversaw the RFP process and distribution of grants for the Women’s Fund, a signature program of the Foundation. She has also held choral director positions at middle schools in Austin and Houston, and arts management positions in Texas, New York, and New Jersey.
Christina Alexander joins Chorus America as its ADEI and Music Education Consultant. Christina is an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion leader living at the intersection of education and the arts with over 20 years of professional experience and training in EDI and antiracism, arts, organizational development and management, curriculum development, and nonprofit work.
With Kim and Christina's leadership, Chorus America looks forward to developing the Music Education Collaborative Grants program to create robust partnerships between community choruses and school-based music education programs that increase access to choral music education for young people and enhance their personal growth. In addition, Chorus America is also excited to announce a new role on the Operations team for Casey Cook, who has taken on the position of Information and Digital Asset Manager. In this new role, Casey will expand his focus on maintaining the organization’s data and digital platforms and serving digital needs across all departments.
