Janice Bane

Janice Bane has been an integral part of the Nashville music industry since 1987. Her 30-plus years in music publishing began with Chappell/Intersong Music Group’s Nashville division. From there Bane worked in copyright-related roles at Warner Chappell Music, Hamstein Music Group, Copyright.Net, MCS Music America, and Conexion Media Group. In 2012 Janice joined the Barbershop Harmony Society as music library and licensing coordinator and was later promoted to copyright and licensing manager. Bane oversees all music clearance, licensing, perfection of rights, and royalty operations for the Society’s IP assets.

Janice holds active memberships in Copyright Society of the South, Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP), Music Row Administrators Group, the Publishers Administrators Network, and the Barbershop Harmony Society. In 2016 Bane was elected to the board of directors for the Copyright Society of the South, and has served as secretary to the board since that time.  

Janice Bane holds a degree in recording industry management from Middle Tennessee State University. A long-time church musician, Janice currently serves as sanctuary pianist and choral accompanist for St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee. An avid animal lover, four rescue cats and two dogs enjoy their forever home with Janice and husband Ted.
