Jeanie Brindley-Barnett

Jeanie Brindley-Barnett received her bachelor's degree in music education and master's degree in vocal performance from Florida State University. She received a Rotary International Fellowship for postgraduate studies at the London Opera Centre, a two year apprentice-fellowship with the Minnesota Opera Studio Program and sang with the San Francisco Opera Chorus. She was a roster artist with both the Minnesota and North Dakota State Arts Board, and with Young Audiences of Minnesota. As a composer, she was commissioned by the Minnesota Orchestra to compose and arrange for their Young People’s Concerts and Kinder Konzerts series. Her song cycle Butterfly Songs was the featured work in both the Minnesota Orchestra’s Entartete Musik Series, and in Prague’s annual “Music Festival of 20th Century Music” held at the Rudolfinum, home of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a co-founder, program coordinator, and lead teaching artist of MacPhail Music for Life™, a music education program for older adults. She is music director of LeagueAires, a women’s chorus sponsored by the Junior League of Minneapolis in partnership with MacPhail Center for Music.
