Diablo Choral Artists Announce a New Artistic Director

Diablo Choral Artists (DCA) announce that after a ten-year tenure, our beloved Music Director, Mark Tuning, has retired to Idaho to be near family. We are grateful for Mark’s leadership, good humor, and exquisite musicality, and we wish him well.

After an extensive search, Diablo Choral Artists’ Board of Directors is delighted to announce the appointment of Luis González as our new Artistic Director.

With a dynamic career spanning opera, musical theater, symphonic and choral masterworks, Luis is a skilled conductor, passionate music educator and accomplished baritone soloist. His diverse and versatile performances have taken him across the United States and abroad, collaborating with esteemed institutions like The New York Philharmonic, Sarasota Orchestra, Crested Butte Music Festival, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Opera Tampa, Opera San José, St. Petersburg Opera and many more.

Now, Luis is thrilled to return to his native SF Bay Area for an exhilarating first season with Diablo Choral Artists! Join us for this exciting new chapter and prepare to embark on a spellbinding musical journey together.
