Now in its forty-first year, CCC is an auditioned ensemble of professional and dedicated avocational musicians from throughout the state of Connecticut and New York. CCC has established itself as one of the region’s premier vocal ensembles through performances of significant choral repertoire spanning the sixteenth through the twenty-first centuries. Under the Artistic Direction of Constance Chase since 2008, the ensemble has presented biannual performances including such major works with orchestra and chamber orchestra as J.S. Bach’s Magnificat, Haydn’s Paukenmesse and Lord Nelson Mass, Fauré and Duruflé Requiems, Bernstein’s MASS, Howells’ An English Mass, and programs of important chamber works dating from the Renaissance to active composers of today. Additionally of interest, in recent years CCC has collaborated with renowned period instrument ensemble The Sebastians in a program of early cantatas of J.S. Bach, presented the U.S. premiere of Donald Fraser’s acclaimed setting of Elgar’s Sea Pictures for chamber choir and string ensemble, made its NYC debut at St. Patrick’s Cathedral’s A City Singing at Christmas, and also performed at the Choralfest USA festival held at New York’s Symphony Space. Other important collaborations include performances with the Greater Bridgeport Symphony under the direction of Eric Jacobsen. CCC has recently established a residency at First Church Congregational, Fairfield, to begin in the 2019-2020 season.
