Toronto Mendelssohn Choir accepting applicants for January Choral Conductors' Symposium

The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir has just opened applications for its 8th annual Choral Conductors' Symposium, led by Noel Edison. This Symposium will take place January 23-27, 2018 in Toronto. Applications to participate in the Symposium are due November 17th

The Symposium annually welcomes five conductors from across North America. It is a wonderful opportunity for emerging conductors to work with Noel Edison and have the experience of conducting the large-scale Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and also a professional chamber choir, the Elora Singers.  Participating conductors will each have approximately 200 minutes of podium time. The Symposium ends with a public concert where all participating conductors conduct both the TMC and the Elora Singers. This concert will also be webcast live.

Previous participants have praised the Symposium for the amount of podium time, the unique experience of working with the two different ensembles, Noel’s skill as a teacher, and the pressure and thrill of presenting a well-attended concert.
