Switzerland's storied Choeur des Armaillis to perform in Washington, DC

Directly from the hills of the Gruyère district of Switzerland, Les Choeur des Armaillis de la Gruyère will visit Washington in a rare tour to the US. Founded almost 60 years ago, the choir has won numerous awards at international choral festivals.

On Wednesday, April 5, they join the 18th Street Singers and headline their stateside visit at the Lansburgh Theater. The special engagement, called "From the Alps to Appalachia" will feature music from both countries' native lands. Tickets and more information about this performance can be found at http://choeur-des-armaillis.eventbrite.com/.

Literally translated “the choir of the herdsmen,” the men of the Choeur des Armaillis spend most of the year tending to the cows that produce the region’s world-famous cheese. Their appearance is made possible in part through a partnership with the Embassy of Switzerland. To learn more about the 18th Street Singers, please visit http://www.18thstreetsingers.com/
