Siskiyou Singers create virtual choir parody song, "Life's NOT a Cabaret"

Like most performing arts organizations, Siskiyou Singers of Ashland, Ore., was forced to abandon its Spring 2020 program due to the coronavirus. This was particularly unfortunate in that the spring concerts were to have been a celebration of Director Mark Reppert's 10 years with the choir.

Undeterred, Mr. Reppert brought together a handful of choir members online to record "Life's NOT a Cabaret," a parody based on the classic musical theater number with lyrics, penned by Mr. Reppert, reflecting the current state of the world.

The song required Mr. Reppert to teach himself online audio editing as well as video production, skills he believes will be helpful for the choir regardless of the duration of the pandemic. The completed music video was posted to YouTube at the end of April, just before what would have been Siskiyou Singers spring performance weekend.
