Jacksonville Children's Chorus Welcomes New Staff Member Katy Polk

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Katy Polk as Primary Choir Conductor, Vocal Exploration Instructor, Voice Instructor, and Program Coordinator. Katy Polk, soprano, is a native of the greater Jacksonville area. She graduated with her Bachelor's in Voice Performance from Florida State University in 2012. While at FSU, she studied with Shirley Close and performed such roles as Miss Pinkerton in Menotti's "The Old Maid and the Thief," Cuipidon in Offenbach's "Orphée aux enfers," and Myrtis in Carlisle Floyd's "Cold Sassy Tree." After receiving her Bachelor's, Katy pursued her Master's at Boston University. There she studied with Dr. Jerrold Pope. While at Boston University, Katy covered the roles of Eliza in Nico Muhly's "Dark Sisters," Donna Elvira in "Don Giovanni," and Harper in "Angels in America." She performed the roles of Elaine O'Neill in "Later the Same Evening" and was most recently seen as Noémi in Massenet's "Cendrillon." Katy graduated from Boston University with a Master's in Voice Performance in 2015.
