FRANCISCO J. NÚÑEZ TO RECEIVE ASCAP FOUNDATION’S “LIFE IN MUSIC” AWARD DECEMBER 11 AT ASCAP FOUNDATION HONORS EVENT IN NEW YORK CITY

 

 

The ASCAP Foundation has announced that Francisco J. Núñez, artistic director/founder of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, will be presented with the foundation’s “Life in Music Award” for his “outstanding accomplishments as a composer, music educator and conductor” at its ASCAP Foundation Honors event, being held in New York City on December 11 at Jazz at Lincoln Center.  

 

The announcement praised Francisco’s “vision and creative excellence…his distinguished contributions to the musical landscape” and his “exceptional talents and lifelong efforts to help others fulfill their musical dreams.”

 

Also being recognized on this occasion will be multi-platinum recording artist Natalie Merchant, who will receive The ASCAP Foundation’s “Champion Award” for both her place among America’s most respected recording artists, songwriters, and performers, and for her formidable social activism.
