Children's Festival Chorus to Hold Winter Auditions

The Children's Festival Chorus of Pittsburgh will hold mid-year auditions on December 15, 2014 from 6 to 8 Pm in the Mary Pappert School of Music on the Duquesne University campus. We encourage choral directors and music educators within the Pittsburgh region to inform talented young singers in grades three and above of this opportunity.

Children should no prepare any music in advance. CFC's group audition process takes up to two hours so children should plan to attend for the entire time.  During this time, children participate in a rehearsal which gives them the chance to learn and get comfortable with the audition selection along with their peers. As the children rehearse, members of CFC's conducting staff observe how each child interacts within the group setting.  They also pay careful attention to each child's musical abilites and innate musicianship.  As each child is ready, they are given the opportunity to sing the audition selection as a solo.

While the children are engaged in the audition, parents are invited to attend an information session that explains in detail the rewards and requirements of participating in the chorus.

Should you have any questions, please call the CFC Office at 412-281-4790 or email Carly Black, Chorus Manager directly at [email protected].
