Established in 2011 and hailed by the Washington Post as “true harmonic convergence,” the Serenade! Washington, D.C. Choral Festival is an exuberant celebration of choral music from around the world. Professional and community choirs experience enriching cultural exchanges, while participating in outreach events and workshops and performing multiple concerts to enthusiastic audiences at prestigious venues throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, such as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Strathmore Hall. Since its inception, Serenade! has showcased more than 70 choirs from some 30 countries across 6 continents.
Serenade! continues its partnership with the Kennedy Center for its 2018 edition celebrating the centennial anniversary of President Nelson Mandela, with a focus on his enduring values of truth, reconciliation, justice, and equality. For more information, please see:
