2014 CME Institute will highlight newly edited works by Scarlatti and Porpora

The CME Institute for Choral Teacher Education will be highlighting newly-edited works by Italian composers Allesandro Scarlatti (Stabat Mater) and Nicola Porpora (Magnificat in A) alongside a newly composed Requiem Misa Brevis by Chicago composer Lita Grier.  The 2014 Institute features a stylistically diverse repertoire of spiritually inspired European classics as well as contemporary and world music compositions appropriate for liturgical, educational and concert performance.  
Located on the beautiful Lake Michigan shore at the campus of Carthage College from July 31-August 3, 2014.  Register by May 31 to receive registration discount!  Registered participants are invited to perform with our Institute choirs-in-residence on the evening of Sunday, August 3rd, CHICAGO SINGS! Festival at St. James Cathedral in downtown Chicago.
