Position Summary: New York City Master Chorale seeks a part-time Executive Director to help lead a young and vibrant non-profit NYC choral organization (approximately 15-20 hours per week). Hours are flexible, with an ability to work primarily from home. Working closely with Founder and Artistic Director Thea Kano, the Director of Development and Marketing, the Board of Directors, and an engaged team of volunteers, the Executive Director will manage all administrative, operational, financial and strategic needs for the organization. Responsibilities include: 
General Administration, Governance, and Finance:
·         Guide strategic planning of the organization
·         Manage cash flow and process payroll as well as all accounts receivable and payable
·         Develop and manage the annual organizational budget
·         Work in close partnership with Director of Development and Marketing to co-ordinate fundraising initiatives
·         Serve as liaison to the board, project managing board initiatives and guiding board development
·         Answer general inquiries and correspondence 
·         Maintain all necessary insurances
·         Attend weekly evening rehearsals, board meetings, dress rehearsals and concerts
·         Coordinate rehearsal and performance times and spaces
·         Serve as the primary contact to venues, negotiating and managing all aspects of NYCMC’s rental contracts
·         Negotiate and execute contracts with all musicians and contractors; along with artistic staff, serve as artist and vendor contact
·         Prepare concert programs
·         Oversee ticketing process with the volunteer box office team
·         Manage outreach initiatives, including our educational outreach programs
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, an innovative and positive thinker, has the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure; can work effectively both independently and with other staff and Board members; and is able to anticipate potential setbacks and devise appropriate and creative solutions to issues that may arise. The ability to positively motivate and develop staff, Board, and volunteers and to build consensus among stakeholders and constituents is a must. 
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, and 3-5 years in a leadership role in arts or nonprofit management is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record in growing a nonprofit organization. Knowledge of and passion for choral music, and experience in the New York City market is desired. Competency and comfort with all standard computer applications (Microsoft Office and Google Suite) is mandatory.
