The Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Peter Shannon, along with the Savannah Philharmonic Chorus, under the direction of newly-appointed chorusmaster Dr. Matt Caine, seek an outstanding accompanist to serve as rehearsal accompanist for the chorus, but with occasional performing duties. Currently, rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:30pm, weekly, September through May of each year. For the 2018-2019 season, only one concert will require the accompanist as a performing member of the ensemble.
 
The successful candidate will have considerable experience with and knowledge of choral repertoire commonly performed by a symphonic chorus (oratorio, other choral-orchestral major works, opera choruses, etc.), and the ability to not only render orchestral reductions and accompaniments at a high level of artistry, but to also be able to play choral parts as needed. The ability to read from an open score and the ability to play from an open choral-orchestral score are highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits: 

$100 per rehearsal; additional compensation for performances involving the accompanist
