Shelley Collier

Shelley Collier, MEd, teaches ASL at Salesianum School in Wilmington, Delaware, an all-boys (sic) Catholic school, where she is the founding faculty advisor for The Alliance, the first openly gay straight alliance in a Delaware Catholic school. She also serves on the diversity and inclusion task force and works with the director of diversity to present on sex, gender and identity. A graduate of Temple University, Shelley holds her MEd from Concordia University, where she studied curriculum and instruction with a minor in equity, ethics and justice. Shelley has always approached her work in the arts as a space where the quest for beauty and the quest for a more just world can overlap. Previous work has included directing The Laramie Project, assistant directing Imagination Players, a youth performing arts and social action group, and chaperoning student service-learning projects. She and her wife are enjoying their growing family of four adult children and new granddaughter.
