Emily Crile

Emily Crile thoroughly enjoys serving as a choral conductor and music educator for all levels, children through adult, throughout the Denver metro area. As the Associate Director of the Colorado Children’s Chorale, she directs Apprentice Choir and Transitions. Emily assists with Tour Choir which includes preparing young singers for performances with the Colorado Symphony, Central City Opera, Colorado Ballet, and Opera Colorado as well as extensive touring throughout North America, Australia, China, Europe, New Zealand, and South Africa alongside her favorite young musical ambassadors. With her passion for accessible music education, she also designs and implements the CCC’s education programs which includes weekly in-school partnerships with music teachers and coordinating Community Choir programs throughout Denver. 

Emily is a regular guest clinician and conductor-in-residence throughout Colorado. She serves as the current Secretary/Treasurer of the Colorado American Choral Directors Association and in July 2019 steps into the President-Elect position. Emily has also been a member of the Education Advisory Committee of the Scientific and Cultural Collaborative and has been the youth choir and interim adult choir director at Calvary Baptist Church. She was honored to be selected as a Chorus America Choral-Orchestral Conducting Academy Fellow in 2005 (Children's Choir) and Scholar in 2017 through which she studied with Ann Howard Jones, Stephen Cleobury, John Alexander, Lucinda Carver, and Duain Wolfe. 

Prior to moving to Colorado in 2000, Emily was an Assistant Conductor of the Northern Iowa Children's Choir. She holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Colorado, Boulder and Bachelor of Music, K-12 Choral Education, from the University of Northern Iowa.
