Mary Langsdorf

Mary C. Langsdorf is the founding board president of the Orange County Women’s Chorus in Orange County, California, and hosted the first planning meeting for the group in 1997. She incorporated the chorus, obtained nonprofit tax status, developed the board, and facilitated the transition from the founding artistic director. She served as the group’s volunteer executive director for the first 20 years of its history. The chorus hired its first part-time paid executive director in the fall of 2018, and she continues to support that role.

A life-long choral singer, she was a financial executive for nearly 20 years, retiring as the senior vice president of finance of PacifiCare Health Systems (now United Health Group) in 2001 after serving in increasingly responsible positions through the company’s growth from $400 million to $10 billion in revenue. She managed multiple acquisition integrations, stock and debt issuances, and multi-state finance teams. Prior to joining PacifiCare, Mary was an audit manager for Ernst & Young, serving clients ranging in size from 50 employees to a Fortune 50 company. While raising their young daughters, Mary launched her second career in the nonprofit sector, completing a certificate in nonprofit financial planning and management from California State University—Fullerton, participating in Chorus America conferences, and learning by doing!

She consults with other nonprofit organizations periodically, facilitating strategic planning sessions and sharing her experience in financial planning and reporting, fundraising, and marketing. She holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting and international management from Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri, and was a licensed CPA in the state of Connecticut. She and her husband, Bill, make their home in San Juan Capistrano, California, and their grown daughters live nearby.
