Evaluation Criteria

Students and choral leaders of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply for scholarships and will be specially considered as part of Chorus America’s ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion in the choral field.

Diverse backgrounds can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, physical ability, nationality, language, religious beliefs, socioeconomic background, and other areas of identity.

Applications will be evaluated based on the quality of the responses and potential for the scholarship to make a lasting impact in the applicant’s career and/or choral community. Quality responses are more than three sentences, but less than two paragraphs. Applicants may apply for multiple scholarships but will receive no more than one award. Scholarship recipients are selected on a competitive basis.
