Christie Hammes

Christie Hammes has nurtured the development of organizations and their executives, board members, and other leaders as consultant, trainer, coach, and facilitator—first through her own consulting firm, and since 2000 as director of strategic development at MAP for Nonprofits in St. Paul.  From an earlier career in the corporate world to her work consulting with nonprofits and government, Hammes draws on a cross-pollination of leadership and organization development practices across the sectors.

She collaborates with leaders and leadership groups on crafting strategy, strengthening governance, and creating more productive workplaces.  Always, she seeks to help leaders become more resilient so that they bring their best to their work, whether it is to build robust enterprise, safeguard our environment, alleviate poverty, or enliven our culture.

Hammes is accredited as a leadership trainer and facilitator through the Institute for Health and Human Potential. She completed advanced training through the Coaches Training Institute and is licensed as a trainer in Immunity to Change™ through her work with Harvard University’s Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey.  Hammes has taught governance and planning in nonprofits as adjunct faculty at Hamline University’s Graduate School of Business.  She has served on a number of boards, including the board of Walker West Music Academy in St. Paul.
