Choral-Orchestral Conducting Masterclass 2014

Improve your technique and advance your career in a challenging, collaborative environment.

Chorus America’s Conducting Masterclasses bring conductors, teachers, and resources together to create an enriching, positive experience for Conducting Fellows on the podium and all participants who are observing.

The Conducting Masterclass is designed to give early-career choral conductors the opportunity to work with master teachers and coaches/mentors on skills to help them meet challenges beyond their university training. Conducting Fellows are selected through a competitive application process; and valuable opportunities to participate as Conducting Associates and Auditors are available to conductors of all experience levels.

This year’s Choral-Orchestral Conducting Masterclass, presented once again in partnership with Mannes College New School for Music in New York City, will focus on major works in the choral-orchestral canon that choral conductors are likely to encounter in their careers. A world-class, accessible faculty offers both feedback on the podium and one-on-one individualized coaching. The Mannes Orchestra, chorus, and soloists will be in residence to provide an exceptional learning experience.
