Choralis Presents "Century of the Common Man"

Choralis presents a program of music inspired by the wartime courage and sacrifice of the“common man,” including excerpts from Britten’s War Requiem and Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem and a complete performance of Joseph Jongen’s Messe en l’honneur du Sant- Sacrement. In addition, organist Todd Fickley perform Durufle’s Prelude et fugue sur le nom d’Alain and a brass ensemble will perform Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man. Read more

The Rensselaer Orchestra is an ensemble of undergraduate and graduate students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Under the direction of Maestro Nicholas DeMaison, the ensemble will perform Missy Mazzoli’s River Rouge Transfiguration and Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 82. This performance will celebrate the launch of Rensselaer’s new Bachelor of Science in Music. Read more

In the first concert of the season, PMAZ presents a medley of tunes by the Beatles, or the “Fab Four” as they were known, plus selections by Broadway greats Andrew Lloyd Webber, Richard Rodgers and others! PMAZ will perform such all-time Beatles favorites as Imagine, Yesterday, She Loves You and All You Need is Love. Broadway hits of the time were outstanding, too, and PMAZ will delight audiences with selections from Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita and West Side Story to name a few.
