Featuring a world premiere by Syran American composer Kareem Roustom, Rage Against the tyrant(s), based on street chants of the “Arab Spring” and Iraqi and Syrian American poetry of resistance, loss, and exodus. Paired with the East Coast premiere of Shawn Kirchner’s Songs of Ascent, lyrical settings of pilgrimage psalms that aim to lift us beyond our divisions to find peace.
