  The Northern Virginia Chorale will have a fundraiser at Barnes and Noble, 12193 Fair Lakes Promenade Dr., Fairfax, VA, on March 17, 2012.  We will be performing between 10 AM and 2 PM.  There will be activities for children:  face painting and bookmark making, and also members will read to the children.  The music and activities will have a St. Patrick's theme.  We appreciate your support at any time that day (and for five days thereafter online) by using our voucher #10683035, which will give the Chorale a percentage of sales. Celtic Celebration

The Northern Virginia Chorale's next concert will be at 7:30 PM on March 24, 2012 at St.Mark's Lutheran Church, 5800 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22150, across from Lynbrook Elementary School.  This "Celtic Celebration" will feature songs from "Brigadoon," "The Wind That Shakes the Barley," "Old Irish Blessing," and several other Irish folk songs accompanied by Celtic harp and bagpipes.  The concert will be followed by a dessert & hors d'oeuvres reception.  Come join us to continue a "wearing o'  the green' celebration!!  Tickets: $15 advance/$20 at door; youth (12-24: $10); under 12, free.  You may find information on our website:  www.northernvirginiachorale.org. Bach’s double motet, Komm, Jesu, Komm and Cantata 21: Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis will be followed by Britten’s Opus 69, Cantata Misericordium, created by the pacifist composer for the commemoration of the centennial anniversary of the Red Cross.
