  The San Francisco Lyric Chorus, under the direction of Music Director, Robert Gurney, invites singers to join us for our exciting Summer 2018 trimester.  We have openings in all parts, especially for Altos, Tenors and Basses.  We know all choristers will enjoy singing this delightful and varied program.     Program:  Song of the Universal John Corigliano:  Fern Hill  Eric Whitacre:  Five Hebrew Love Songs  *  This Marriage   Ola Gjeilo:  Luminous Night of the Soul  *  Song of the Universal Rehearsals begin Monday, May 21, 2018 Rehearsals are held on Monday nights from 7:15-9:45 p.m. Our concerts will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 5 p.m. in Trinity+St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, San Francisco. This final concert of YWCP’s season showcases the full complement of our singers, performing works that illustrate the power of singing. The choruses perform solo and together with music by Schubert, Handel, Randall Thompson, Lajos Bárdos, Kirke Mechem, Libby Larson, Will Todd and others. The choruses will sing in many styles and languages including folksongs from Japan, Estonia, New Zealand and Norway. YWCP’s ensembles have grown this season both in numbers and artistry. Mostly Modern Festival & Institute

The Mostly Modern Festival (MMF) Institute is the educational component of the Mostly Modern Festival, offering a combination of intensive one-on-one instruction and professional performance experience. The institute has over 100 students & over 20 faculty members. There will be an orchestra, a choir, 4 chamber ensembles, masterclasses, lectures, and private lessons. The Institute is open to musicians 18 and older, and welcomes people in all stages of their career.  MMF takes place at Skidmore College at the Arthur Zankel Music Center. Skidmore College is ideally located in Saratoga Springs, New York, three hours by car from NYC, Boston, Philadelphia and Montreal. All public performances take place at the stunning Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall, a 600-seat acoustically tuned space. Requiem for the Middle Class - Concert
