The Peninsula Women's Chorus and The Golden Gate Men's Chorus collaborate in a West Coast premiere.

In our third collaboration, one hundred voices will join in the West Coast premiere of “The Son of Man” by Syrian-American composer Kareem Roustom. We present excerpts from this Middle-Eastern-infused, modern-day oratorio set to the poetry of Kahlil Gibran, consisting of reflections on the ministry of Christ.

In addition, PWC will perform “Alma Submerged,” a 2012 commission from Frank Ferko, and GGMC will give the world premieres of the newly commissioned “I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes,” by Vytautas Miškinis, and “Surge amica mea,” by Leonard Enns. Other program highlights include “I Just Lightning” by Libby Larsen and “The Stove” by Zae Munn, performed by the PWC; a GGMC performance of “Hallowed Be Thy Name” by Anders Paulsson; and “Soneto de la Noche” by Morten Lauridsen, to be sung by the combined choirs.
