Join VOCE as we explore the related themes of journeying, exploration, and self-discovery in one of the boldest programs we have ever presented.
Enlightenment through pilgrimage can be just as much about the journey itself as the destination that lies at the end of the path. Join VOCE as we explore the related themes of journeying, exploration, and self-discovery in one of the boldest programs we have ever presented. Anchoring our program is the final movement of English composer Joby Talbot’s 2005 work Path of Miracles, inspired by the ancient pilgrimage paths to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. We also present music of the medieval period that has been sung by countless pilgrims who have made their way to Compostela. Alongside this music, we will present the US premiere of Andrea Casarrubios’s “Caminante,” for cello and chorus. Works by Stephen Paulus, Ola Gjeilo, and Richard Wagner round out what is sure to be a rich and rewarding musical journey.
$25 general admission, $20 age 62+, $10 student, students under 18 free
