Steve Zegree, Artistic Director

Join Manhattan Concert Productions for their New York City Jazz Festival 2014, live from the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center this Spring.

New York City Jazz Festival participants have previously enjoyed working with some of the most prominent jazz professionals of our time, including outstanding vocalist Kurt Elling, Grammy-award winning saxophonist, Bob Mintzer, and in 2013 saw 9-time Grammy-award winning singer, and founding member of vocal quartet The Manhattan Transfer, Janis Siegel take to the stage.

New York City Jazz Festival, under the artistic direction of Dr. Steve Zegree, is housed at one of Manhattan's most outstanding venues - The Allen Room. Based on the design of a Greek amphitheater, The Allen Room possesses one of New York City's greatest backdrops-Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. Rose Theater, designed acoustically to be the premier jazz performance hall in the world, will host your evening Gala performance in 2014.

New York City Jazz Festival is dedicated to individual ensemble adjudicated matinee performances in The Allen Room with recorded verbal comments from each of the guest clinicians, as well as rehearsals in New York City Jazz Festival Chorus under the direction of Dr. Steve Zegree. This will not only prepare New York City Jazz Festival Chorus for their inaugural concert at Rose Theater, it will also encourage sharing and the development of musicianship skills that will benefit the performers far beyond their weekend experience in New York City. Prior to the evening's Gala Concert, there will also be a Q&A session with our featured guest artists in the Atrium at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Imagine the possibiities - your ensemble on the same stage where so many legendary jazz artists past and present have performed!
