o   Harmonium Choral Society presents a choral musicianship workshop for diversity and inclusivity on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2pm until 5pm at Grace Episcopal Church, 4 Madison Ave at Kings Road, Madison, NJ.  Exploring Inclusivity and Diversity in the Choral Rehearsal or Music Classroom, with clinician Elise Figa, is appropriate for all singers.  Exploring best practices for an inclusive music classroom or rehearsal, be prepared to participate, discuss and brainstorm in this interactive workshop.  Building a vocabulary and repertoire for celebrating diversity in the classroom can pose many questions: “How do I best serve my students from many diverse backgrounds?” “How do we explore cultural representation?”  “In trying to be multicultural, do we actually misrepresent?”  “Are we creating anti-bias lessons and inclusive concerts?”  This workshop reflects the teacher or director’s journey towards inclusivity.  Professional development hours are available for New Jersey teachers.  Please visit https://harmonium.yapsody.com/ to register.  For assistance or more information, email manager@harmonium.org or call 973-538-6969.
