2018 Serenade! Washington, DC Choral Festival celebrates Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday in Songs from June 28-July 2, 2018
Join the Serenade! Washington, D.C. Choral Festival, hailed by the Washington Post as “true harmonic convergence,” and enjoy an exuberant celebration of choral music from around the world right in the nation's capital.
Participate in enriching cultural exchanges with many domestic and international choirs, outreach events, workshops with notable choral conductors, and performances at prestigious venues in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Festival participants will also perform a newly commissioned world premiere during the Grand Finale massed choir performance conducted by Scott Tucker, Artistic Director of the Choral Arts Society of Washington.
The annual festival has showcased more than 70 choirs from some 30 countries and 6 continents since its inception in 2011 and always offers a memorable experience for choirs and audiences alike.
The 2018 edition will honor in songs Nobel Prize Winner and South Africa President Nelson Mandela’s centennial and his leading example in achieving Equality, Unity, Truth and Reconciliation.
