Wendy Bamonte

Conducting Scholar

Wendy Bamonte enjoys a varied career in music, both as a conductor and instrumentalist. She holds a master’s degree in music education (conducting) from Portland State University and a Master of Music degree (flute performance) from Boston University. Originally from Ashland, Oregon, she began conducting church choirs there in 1987. Since 1999, she has served as director of the Sanctuary Choir at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church in Lake Oswego, Oregon, becoming the church's director of music ministries in 2007. 

As a flutist, Wendy maintains an active performing schedule, holding positions in the Portland Chamber Orchestra and the Eugene Symphony as well as subbing with the Oregon Symphony. Before settling in Portland, she spent a year touring the country with the Broadway National Tour of Les Miserables. Presently, Wendy makes her home in Southwest Portland with her husband Dave and their 10-year-old daughter, Emily.
