David Hayes, who began his musical life as a violinist/violist, currently serves as director of Orchestral and Conducting Studies at Mannes School of Music (New School University) in New York, as staff conductor of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra in Philadelphia, as well as music director of the NYChoral (New York Choral Society). Hayes served on the conducting staff of the Philadelphia Orchestra from 2001-2011. In May 2015, he completed twenty-three years as Music Director of the critically acclaimed professional vocal ensemble The Philadelphia Singers.
