Call for Submissions - Research Memorandum Series

The Research Memorandum Series (RMS) is a biannual journal of bibliographic tools suitable to the choral director and/or to those researching choral music literature and performance practice. The RMS began in the 1950s and now numbers nearly two hundred issues. It focuses primarily on the works of one composer (both mainstream and lesser-known); listing their works by genre, style period, voicing, or another category. At other times it has served as a bibliography, listing recent scholarly writings on the music of a composer, a country, or a genre of choral works. Its recent move to an online format has allowed the journal to expand its coverage, to include musical examples, photos, interior/exterior links, and other such material that was previously difficult to publish in print.

Submission guidelines

  1. Submissions are encouraged for bibliographic articles and annotated lists, and should be e-mailed directly to Matthew Bumbach, Editor.

  3. There is no deadline for submissions; articles are reviewed as received. Authors should expect a response within four weeks of submission.
