Coming Soon! A New, Improved Chorus Operations Survey

Our Chorus Operations Survey (COS) is the most comprehensive source of data available on choruses and the choral field. This year, through a new partnership with DataArts, the leading arts and culture researcher, the COS will become an even more powerful tool.

This new partnership with DataArts will help our members analyze and share their data in more ways than ever before. Choruses can use the platform to:

  • Complete a Cultural Data Profile (CDP) – the gold standard for sharing your financial and programmatic information with stakeholders. The Cultural Data Profile is used widely and often required for applications to leading funders such as regional foundations and state arts councils.
  • Have a more user-friendly survey experience, including a streamlined form for organizations with smaller budgets.
  • Monitor data over time, and easily compare your organization to your peers.
  • Pull reports on finances, fundraising, program activity, marketing and more. Create easy-to-read reports with charts and graphs for board members and others with the push of a button.

Our partnership with DataArts also means that data from the choral field will now contribute to research efforts that benefit the performing arts in communities everywhere.

New Timeline! We're changing our survey timeline to collect more current information that can better inform your planning. The COS will launch in mid-October and close at the end of November, with a field-wide report available in February of 2018. Choruses will be asked to enter information from the most recently completed fiscal year.

Stay tuned for information about training resources to help your chorus make the most of this new platform. We are thrilled about this opportunity to better serve our members—and to better tell the story of the important work choruses are doing!
