And when children are included, there are 42.6 million Americans singing in choruses in 2009. AMERICAN CHORAL REVIEW

The American Choral Review is a journal exploring choral repertoire and issues of performance practice pertaining to music of all periods, as well as commenting on recent scores, recordings, books, and performances. The ACR strives to make recent research more widely known to conductors, and to bring great and perhaps lesser-known repertoire to the attention of the choral community at large. Submissions are encouraged for articles in the range of 4,000 words. The ACR was under the editorship of the distinguished musicologist and conductor Alfred Mann from 1961 to 1999. William Weinert has been editor since 1999 (wweinert@esm.rochester.edu).

RESEARCH MEMORANDUM SERIES
The Research Memorandum Series is a bibliographic journal to assist conductors and others in the choral field in their search for repertory. The RMS, which began in the 1950s and now numbers nearly 200 issues, focuses primarily on the works of one composer (both mainstream and lesser-known), listing their works by genre, style period, voicing, or another category. At other times the RMS has served as a true bibliography, listing recent scholarly writings on the music of a composer, a country, or a genre of choral works. Users will find in the RMS a vast repository of information and resources to help guide their continual search for new sources of interesting programming. L. Brett Scott (lincoln.cornishscott@uc.edu) will assume editorship in Spring 2010 from David DeVenney, editor since 1995. (Read the press release.)
