About the Author

Composer Gabriela Lena Frank has mined the rich heritage of her Chinese-Peruvian and Lithuanian-Jewish parents for musical inspiration. A Guggenheim Fellowship recipient and 2009 Latin Grammy Award winner of Best Classical Contemporary Composition, Frank has collaborated with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Chanticleer, the King’s Singers, Dawn Upshaw, and the Kronos Quartet, among many others. Her music is published by G. Schirmer, Inc.
