Schedule
  • 19 weeks of instruction; running September 28-March 31 (with breaks to accommodate the holidays and to complete coursework)
  • 1 week of orientation
  • 3-4 weeks on each of five management courses
  • A sixth course on Access, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) that opens and closes the Institute while interweaving with the other five courses

Platform and Structure
  • The Institute will be run on Canvas, an interactive, user-friendly learning management system
  • Instructional content for each week will be released on Mondays, with a full week to complete all assignments at your convenience
  • To get the most out of the Institute, plan to spend approximately 3 hours per week on your work. Some weeks will be less and some weeks will be more.

  • Oct. 12-25:  Strategic planning (2 weeks)
  • Oct. 26 - Nov. 15:  Budget/Finance (3 weeks)
  • Nov. 16 - Dec. 13:  Governance (3 weeks + 1 week off for Thanksgiving)
  • Dec. 14-18:  Office hours (no new coursework)
  • Dec. 19 - Jan. 3:  Holiday break
  • Jan. 4-31:  Marketing (4 weeks)
  • Feb. 1-21:  Fundraising (3 weeks)
  • Feb. 22 - Mar. 7:  Synthesizing learning and measuring growth: ADEI
  • Mar. 8-26:  Extra time to complete coursework
 
The Online Chorus Management Institute offers:
  • One-on-one and group access to our faculty; some of the smartest - and nicest - experts on chorus and nonprofit management around
  • Individual feedback from faculty on assignments throughout the Institute to help put the content you are learning into action for your organization in real time, as well as assessments and quizzes to measure your learning
  • Access to a private Facebook group where you, your cohort, and the faculty can network, share, motivate each other, and problem-solve together
  • A credential from Chorus America, the leading organization in chorus management education
