Acappellago gives 7 World Premieres

Acappellago was pleased to present seven world premieres at its March 2018 concerts, "Escape to...the Wonderful World of Color" In Oak Brook and Batavia, IL.

The featured premiere was the "Primary Colors" Suite by Robert Applebaum with text by Evanston poet Susan Spaeth Cherry. Although Mr. Applebaum has since relocated to California, his presence is still felt in the Chicago area music community having written previously for Chicago a cappella, Coriolis, and Chicago Children's Choir, as well as Acappellago. He also contributed two other new works: "Witchery" and "Silver."

Two other new works for this concert were provided by members of the ensemble. "What is Pink?" by area singer/conductor Victoria Linich was based on a text by Christina Rosetti and "Grey Dawn" by Lorinda Guenther-Wright was an adaptation of her own work for folk trio for a cappella choir.
