Naxos is the leading independent classical music label & distributor in the world. The marketing manager will have demonstrated experience with a major or independent record label or Distrubtuion Company, arts organization or publishing company in a marketing, sales, production, or artist relations capacity. A comprehensive understanding of the workings of the music industry is a must, along with extensive experience in working with artists, creating marketing plans, and coordinating launches and campaigns. Knowledge of classical music is essential for this position especially in the areas of choral and opera.
The Marketing Manager will maintain daily communication with a large and diverse group of domestic and international contacts. This position will work with labels to identify priority titles and create marketing plans and also review and analyze sales figures and explain findings to labels. This position will be able to successfully manage multiple campaigns as well as working with colleagues to see projects through to completion and be able to handle high volume of new release planning with multiple labels.
The necessary skills that the Marketing Manager will need to have are they must be able to work well with many kinds of people in a team environment and have the ability to develop business relationships with international labels. The candidate will need to have professional verbal and written communication skills and be able to problem solve. The Marketing Manager will have the flexibility and the ability to manage multi faceted projects, be decisive and able to work well under pressure as well as be effective at planning and prioritizing. They will be able to resolve conflicts swiftly and have the ability to manage a team of colleagues to see a project to completion. Essentially the marketing manager will have the understand of emarking and marketing on all platforms available including print/radio marketing to newly developing marketing to online media marketing.
