Chorus America Silent Auction To Be Hosted Online, June 7-25, 2010
For the first time ever, Chorus America's annual Silent Auction will be entirely online at http://www.biddingforgood.com/chorusamerica. The Silent Auction will open June 7 and will close June 25. Anyone, anywhere can partake! We'll offer one-of-a-kind items for choral music lovers—everything from concert tickets to vacation packages to collectibles that you won't find anywhere else. Our annual Live Auction, however, will be part of the Chorus America Awards Banquet & Auction on June 18 at our Conference in Atlanta. The money raised from our Silent and Live Auctions is vital to our continued work on behalf of choral organizations and artists.

Online Conference Registration Open Through June 9
Haven't registered for the Chorus America Conference yet? There's still time to join us there in Atlanta, June 16-19. Online registration will close Wednesday, June 9. After that, registration will only be offered on-site in Atlanta.

We have lots planned for our four-day Conference. Check out all that's in store. Five dynamic plenary sessions and over 25 breakout sessions will cover artistic and programming topics, fundraising, marketing, audience development, board development, strategic planning, finance, recruitment, and more.

We'll discuss the strengths that choruses have to thrive and build audiences in the current financial and cultural climate. A talented cast of experts will lead an extensive conversation on African American choral music—repertoire, history, and performance practices. And we'll also celebrate the legacy of Robert Shaw and give you the opportunity to learn more about his techniques.

Make a commitment to professional development and making your chorus the best it can be. We promise that you'll come away from the Conference revitilized with new ideas and strategies that you can implement in your chorus right away.

Food for Thought: The Do's and Don'ts of Offering Discounts on Concert Tickets
"There’s a principle I want you to think about and that is that the best customers should want to GIVE YOU MORE and GET MORE FROM YOU. Price should be the very last lever you pull with them, because either you’re getting and giving less or you’re giving them a gift. Gifts are nice and can be a good tactic for building good will, but a better long-term strategy is to deepen the relationship by giving more to and getting more from your truly engaged people. Don’t give them the same thing for less. Give them something special that only they can have for more." ~Jim McCarthy, editor of Live 2.0 and CEO of Goldstar. Imprinting looks great and is insurance for your music folders – people like our folder designs so much that unimprinted folders can “walk”!

Limited time offer: until June 21, 2010 we are extending FREE imprinting on all choir orders (minimum quantity of 15).

You may choose from 36 pt Times Roman font or 30 pt. Brush (examples at left) on one line of text up to 30 characters, in the usual choir name position (mid-top center).

If you need more – for example, to go to the maximum 45 characters per line; more lines of text; or special positioning, we’ve also reduced prices accordingly.

We hope this nice perk will appeal to those sitting on the fence, or sharp-eyed readers who alert their chorus to place a top-up order now.
