Nick Adams, executive director of Boston’s Cantata Singers, is a career arts administrator hailing from Anderson, SC. A formally trained pianist and trombonist, he began his musical career as a member of the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band. When his active duty military service ended, he continued his arts administration career with stops at Symphony NH (director of operations) and Longwood Symphony Orchestra (executive director). He holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of South Carolina Honors College and a masters degree in trombone performance from the Mannes College of Music (The New School). An enthusiastic recreational singer, he lives with his wife and two daughters, all musicians, in Framingham, MA.
