The presentation will include a discussion of common vocal disorders among singers as well as musculoskeletal and neurologic issues among instrumentalists and conductors. The session will be presented by a pair of doctors who work in the field of performing arts medicine. Paul Schaefer started his career as a choral conductor at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls before entering medical school, and Jennine Speier has spent a considerable portion of her career caring for instrumentalists through the Musician’s Clinic at the Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
