5th International festival of choirs and orchestras in Cracow (Poland) CRACOW – one of the twelve most important towns in the world The former capital of Poland is one of Europe’s last undiscovered destinations. Here the Holy Father Pope John Paul II served as a Bishop for more than twelve years. Centre of the old town is Rynek (main market place), one of Europe’s most beautiful and largest market places. This market place is divided by huge cloth halls as well as the gothic St. Mary’s Basilica. At the south edge of the old town rises the Wawelburg with the famous King’s castle. In these historic surroundings, in the renowned churches of Krakow as well as in the concert hall with its appealing acoustics, the festival concerts take place. Read more

The Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance Military Affairs Council and Mike Shaw Buick-GMC present The 2013 Armed Forces Week Concert, “Call of the Champions.” The Armed Forces Week celebration is one of the largest of its kind in the country. The Concert features the United States Air Force Academy Band, performing a program of inspirational and patriotic music and song. In 2012, over 2,000 people attended this event. The concert is open to the public, and is FREE of charge, although tickets are required. Tickets are available at the Pikes Peak Center and World Arena box offices beginning May 3rd. This choral musicianship workshop sponsored by Harmonium Choral Society is lead by Lauran Fulton Corson, a highly talented voice instructor. Encompassing techniques of interest to singers of all ages, their choir directors and their teachers, it addresses changes that occur in the voice as the singer matures through an entire lifetime of singing. The concert will feature Mozart "Vesperae solennes de Confessores" . The enchanting "O, for the wings of a dove" by Mendelssohn, and Meeresstille und Glückliche Fahrt" by Beethoven will be performed as well. The finale of the concert will be a performance of selections from Vivaldi's "Gloria". The concert will feature soprano soloist Mary Ellen Callahan, a long time favorite of our audiences, Malena Dayen whose recent performance at Carnegie Hall was rated “outstanding” by the New York Times, tenor Nils Neubert, and bass Pnini Grubner.
